“Grasses and Shrubs and Forbs, Oh My!” led by John Shelly, retired US Forest Service employee. Explore the fabulous central Idaho rangelands near Fairfield and learn pollination strategies and how plants adapt to our hot, dry climate.

Destination: US Forest Service Fairfield Unit

Difficulty: Easy

Meeting Time & Location: Meet at 9:00 AM sharp at Sawtooth Botanical Garden (Highway 75 and Gimlet Rd., 3 miles south of Ketchum) or 10:00 AM at Timmerman Hill rest stop (blinking light, 9 miles south of Bellevue on Highway 75) to carpool.

Return Time: by 3:00 PM

Please note, walks will happen rain or shine. Bring appropriate outerware, sturdy walking shoes, water, sunscreen, hat and lunch.   This walk is family friendly for children age 7 years and older accompanied by an adult. Call if you have questions.  But please leave Fido at home.
